Kicksparking – ice and snow

A kickspark is a racing, sport version of traditional Finnish kicksled. The kickspark does not have a seat and it is tailored for speeding on ice and snow. Both kicksparks and kicksleds are used on frozen lakes and on road that are not sanded.

To get a good grip with your feet you can wear shoes with spikes on them. There are no breaks, that is done by your feet.

The kickspark has places on runners to stand on and a curved handlebar.

The handlebar has foamed grips for better control.

The kick starts with lifting your leg quite high. In a short while you notice back of your legs getting sore.

A kickspark among the more equipped, traditional Finnish kicksleds. Kicksleds like these have been used by many generations in Finland. They are especially popular with families.
